Swedish Midsummer

On Friday the 21st of June we are celebrating Midsummer in Sweden. And what is Midsummer? Well, we are celebrating the longest day of the year by eating herring, potatoes, sour cream, chive, meatballs (of course!). And yeah, not to forget, Swedish strawberries and vanilla ice cream. After eating we dance around a maypole singing Swedish Midsummer songs.

These celebrations often take place on the Swedish countryside or in the archipelago. And very often together with friends and/or family. And hey, don’t forget to make your own flower crown for your hair.

Here are some photos from last years celebration,

Happy Midsummer!
